چکیده
Objective . Investigate whether the disruption of normal hippocampal rhythms via optogenetic stimulation medial septum (MS) during late postnatal development has enduring effects on allocentric memory rat pups. Methods Hippocampal theta oscillations were non-endogenously regulated in pups using blue light (465-nm) pan-neuronal activation MS from day (P)21–25 random sinewave frequencies ranging 0.5 to 110 Hz. Non-stimulated and yellow (590-nm) stimulated rats used as controls, local field potentials hippocampus recorded unilaterally stimulations. In early adulthood, spatial cognition was assessed active avoidance task. Rats perfused tissue containing harvested sectioned assess cell density. Power spectrum density both hippocampus; coherence, voltage correlation analysis between structures compare baseline disruptive stimulation. Results During development, non-selective tightly oscillations. Disruptive increased power but reduced coherence correlations; resulted impaired learning compared with controls. Impairment not attributed or loss. Conclusions. These results demonstrate that can be precisely weanling rats. A protocol critical period long-standing cognitive deficits is Significance activity such occurs life seizures, complex developing neural circuits relevant cognition. By mimicking MS-hippocampal entrainment an isolated fashion, it may possible pinpoint mechanisms through which ELS affect

Ethanol impairs memory by reducing the synaptic connection of the hippocampal spatial neurons
Background and Objective: Ethanol has undesirable effects on memory and synaptic communication. However, its impact on the learned spatial memory is unclear. We investigated the damaging effects of ethanol on place neurons of rat’s hippocampal CA1.Materials and Methods: Sixty four male Wistar rats (250 g) were administered high (1-8 g/kg) or low (0.05-0.1 g/kg) doses of ethanol intraperit...
متن کاملOptogenetic disruption of sleep continuity impairs memory consolidation.
Memory consolidation has been proposed as a function of sleep. However, sleep is a complex phenomenon characterized by several features including duration, intensity, and continuity. Sleep continuity is disrupted in different neurological and psychiatric conditions, many of which are accompanied by memory deficits. This finding has raised the question of whether the continuity of sleep is impor...
متن کاملDisruption of ripple-associated hippocampal activity during rest impairs spatial learning in the rat.
The hippocampus plays a key role in the acquisition of new memories for places and events. Evidence suggests that the consolidation of these memories is enhanced during sleep. At the neuronal level, reactivation of awake experience in the hippocampus during sharp-wave ripple events, characteristic of slow-wave sleep, has been proposed as a neural mechanism for sleep-dependent memory consolidati...

the current study aimed at investigating the relationship between motivation and test preparation strategies (tpss) used by iranian pre-university students in their preparation period for the university entrance exam (uee). due to the importance of uee in iran, this study also attempted to show its impact on these two important variables. to this end, 100 pre-university students in an iranian p...
The Development of Spatial Cognition During Childhood: Extending Understanding of Perception, Memory, Language, Maps, and Gestures
Understanding the development of spatial cognition during childhood is important. Paying close attention to development provides a lens through with to explore mechanisms that underlie stability and change in perception, memory, language, and symbolic understanding over time. This symposium, moderated by Alycia Hund, includes four talks highlighting tight links between spatial perception of mid...
